Google Docs and Microsoft Office

I have previously written a post on taking Homework Grades in Google Docs. This is largely to appease my fascination with the iPhone and using it to save me time and assist in organisation in the classroom.

Anyway, before I fully implement the idea this year (2011), I decided that it would be important to make sure that I can access the data how I want. I love to use Excel on my laptop and don't like working on documents/spreadsheets on my laptop (although on an iPhone / iPad, this works brilliantly!!)

OffiSync is an add-in for Microsoft Office that allows you to open Google Docs from right inside Word and Excel by creating a new tab.

Application to Teaching

This allows for cross-platform sharing of documents for collaboration, which can still be used within the familiar Office environment.
